Empowering counseling to help you achieve your goals

I believe in a holistic, integrated approach to mental health by promoting wellness through personal beliefs and values, mind, body and lifestyle choices. I am available for virtual appointments and, during warmer months, in person appointments at Steep Mountain Farm. I live on this 16 acre property allowing plenty of open space and connection to nature during therapy sessions.
Your first session is a space to be seen and welcomed as you are. I'll spend time getting to know the many parts that make you, you, with curiosity and compassion- no part is too much or unwelcome. We'll talk about what's bringing you to this space and what you hope for, at a pace that feels respectful and collaborative. I also value humor when it naturally arises, as it can help acknowledge the depth, complexity, and wonder of being human.

Life can be a fulfilling and a challenging journey. It is part of the human experience to need support at different times depending on our life stage or situation. Seeking support can be intimidating. I am committed to working collaboratively with clients to foster learning and growth, enabling you to live your best life.
Originally from Ohio, I moved to Utah in 2003 to provide therapeutic outdoor experiences to youth and families. I have spent much of my career working with adolescents and young adults after receiving my Master of Social Work from the University of Utah in 2008. As a LCSW, it's valuable to utilize resources specific to an individual instead of resources specific to a therapist. With that, I primarily lean on the principles of DBT, ACT, CBT, MI, Seven Challenges, Narrative therapy, and EMDR/trauma-informed approaches. I also have experience with substance use and problematic media and technology use. As a psychedelic-assisted therapist, I believe in set and setting as a foundation for growth.
I spend much of my free time outdoors and sleep better under the stars. I love the mountain and desert surroundings that Utah provides, and I can often be found boating, skiing, hiking, backpacking, and traveling through the western U.S. I am also a land steward in Cache Valley, where I raise a menagerie of animals and vegetables. I also enjoy cooking and listening to live music.
We love our clients, so feel free to request a visit during normal business hours.
